This privacy policy explains how CoutureCiel collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data, in accordance with Senegalese Law No. 2008-12 of January 25, 2008 on the protection of personal data and international best practices (GDPR). It applies to the use of coutureciel.com and the application at app.coutureciel.com.

2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of data, strictly necessary for the operation of the service:
- Account data: name, email address, phone number, encrypted password, workshop name.
- Workshop customer data: names, phone numbers, body measurements, style preferences, entered by you in the application.
- Order data: order details, statuses, delivery dates, amounts.
- Payment data: subscription history, payment methods used (processed by our secure payment providers; we do not store your banking data).
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, login frequency (via PostHog, our analytics tool).
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device used.
3. Purposes of Processing
- Provide and operate the CoutureCiel service (managing your workshop, orders, customers)
- Manage billing and subscriptions
- Provide technical support and respond to your requests
- Improve the service and develop new features
- Analyze service usage for optimization (anonymized statistics)
- Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
4. Legal Basis for Processing
- Contract performance: processing your account, order, and billing data is necessary to deliver the service you subscribed to.
- Consent: for marketing communications and non-essential cookies. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate interest: for service improvement and usage analytics, while respecting your rights.
- Legal obligation: for retaining certain data for accounting and tax purposes.
5. Mandatory vs. Optional Data
Data marked as mandatory during registration (name, email, phone) is required to create your account and use the service. Without this data, we cannot provide the service. Data related to your customers and orders is entered by you as needed; providing it is optional but necessary to fully benefit from the management features.
6. Data Recipients
Your data may be accessible to the following categories of recipients:
- The CoutureCiel technical team, limited to what is necessary for service delivery and support
- Hetzner Online GmbH (hosting provider), for secure data storage
- PostHog (analytics tool), for anonymized usage statistics
- PayTech (payment provider integrating Orange Money, Wave, and bank cards), solely for processing transactions
- Resend (transactional email delivery service)
- mTarget (SMS notification delivery)
- WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta), for WhatsApp notifications to customers
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial or advertising purposes.
7. International Transfers
Some data may be hosted or processed outside Senegal by our technical providers (cloud hosting, analytics). In such cases, we ensure these providers offer an adequate level of protection, in compliance with the requirements of Law 2008-12 and international best practices. Appropriate contractual safeguards are in place.
8. Data Retention
- Active account: your data is retained for the duration of your subscription.
- After cancellation: your data is kept for 30 days after cancellation to allow you to export it, then permanently deleted.
- Billing data: retained for 10 years in compliance with accounting and tax obligations.
- Analytics data: anonymized and retained for a maximum of 24 months.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The coutureciel.com website uses cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies: necessary for the website to function (session, language preferences). They do not require your consent.
- Analytics cookies (PostHog): used to understand how the site is used and improve it. These cookies are only placed with your consent.

10. Your Rights
In accordance with Law No. 2008-12 and the GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Right of access: you can request to know what data we hold about you.
- Right of rectification: you can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Right of opposition: you can object to the processing of your data on legitimate grounds.
- Right of deletion: you can request deletion of your data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Right to portability: you can request to receive your data in a structured, readable format.

11. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
- Strict access controls: only authorized personnel access data necessary for their role
- Regular and secure backups
- Continuous system monitoring to detect incidents
12. Children's Data
CoutureCiel is a professional service designed for tailors and workshop managers. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18 years of age. If we discover that a minor has created an account, we will delete their data promptly.
13. Data Breach
In the event of a data breach likely to pose a risk to your rights, we commit to notifying the CDP promptly and informing you if the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms.
14. Policy Changes
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or regulations. In case of substantial changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The last update date is indicated at the top of this page.
15. CDP Declaration
In accordance with Law No. 2008-12, the personal data processing carried out by CoutureCiel is declared to the Senegalese Commission for the Protection of Personal Data (CDP). This declaration is currently being finalized. For more information: cdp.sn.
